Eastern Philosophy

Eastern philosophy encompasses the great intellectual traditions of Asia — the metaphysics and ethics of ancient India, the social and cosmological thought of China, the meditative philosophies of Buddhism, and the many schools that developed across Japan, Korea, and beyond. These traditions explored questions of consciousness, impermanence, the self, and right action with a rigour and depth equal to anything in the Western canon, yet through fundamentally different assumptions about what matters and how to know it.
